Rental Types

Updated over 3 months ago

Rental Types are the available KINDs of rentals that can be issued to members and guests. There are two types of rental types already created:

  • Rental Set: Typically, sets of clubs that are rented to members/guests. Note: This is the only KIND to utilize the dexterity, flex, and set composition fields.

  • General: A general rental category that can include any other type of rental you may have. Note: Additional general rental categories can be created (e.g., Push Cart, Golf Car, Rnage Finder, Umbrella, etc.).

Every golf club may have different rental types, so it is important that you review and build out your rental types to meet the needs of your club. Creating additional rental types are useful in cases where you have several types of rental kinds (e.g. pull carts, shoes, range finders, etc.) that you wish to track in Golf Genius - Golf Shop.

In this article, we will discuss managing rental types.

Rental Forms:

When checking out rentals, there are two types of rental forms used:

  • Rental Set: Used specifically for the inventory type Rental Sets, this form allows you to set a tracking id, dexterity, flex, add set composition, and additional details (as shown below). Note: This is the only KIND to utilize the dexterity, flex, and set composition fields.

  • General: Used for all other rental inventory that is not a Rental Set. This form is generic and allows you to define a tracking id, kind and additional details (as shown below). Note: Additional general rental categories can be created (e.g., Push Cart, Golf Car, Rnage Finder, Umbrella, etc.). Additional General Rental Types can be created. More details below.

Creating Rental Types:

During your onboarding process, your account manager may or may not have uploaded additional general rental types for you. Each rental type allows you to see and sort your rentals with more details on your rental dashboard and inventory page. You can always add more general rental types if necessary.

To create additional rental types manually, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to Services > Rentals > Rental Types > New Rental Type.

  2. Enter the following:

    1. Rental Type Name: Name for the rental type.

  3. Click "Save" (as shown below).

Note: When adding new Rental Types, they will be created as General Rentals. These new general rental types do not utilize the dexterity, flex, and set composition fields.

Editing/Deleting Existing Rental Types:

You can view and edit/delete current rental types by going to Services > Rentals > Rental Types (as shown below). Use the action drow-down and click "Edit" or "Delete," depending on what you wish to do.
