Q: We have a thermal label printer (e.g. Zebra, Dymo, Brother, etc.). Can I print demo club labels or member labels on this type of printer?
A: As long as your printer can be used to print PDF files, then you will be able to print labels on your thermal printer. You would need to make sure you have the following:
Verify your printer can be used to print PDF files.
The proper print drivers are installed on your computer. When setting up your specialty printer, these were probably installed at that time. If you need further assistance with your printer, please reach out to the printer manufacturer.
You have created a Page Layout in Golf Genius - Golf Shop that matches the dimensions of the label you are printing on.
You have created a label design using the Page Composer in Golf Genius - Golf Shop for the label you are printing on.
Note: You will probably need to do some testing when printing on thermal labels to ensure your margins are correct and everything is aligned. As a best practice, try one label and make adjustments to your page layout as necessary before printing your entire inventory.
Creating Custom Labels:
To be able to print on a label printer, a label report must be created. To create a custom label, follow these instructions:
Go to Report Center > New Report > Page Composer.
Name the Report.
Select the Layout. If the proper layout is not available, you can create one. For more details on building/managing layout, Click Here. Some tips:
If printing to a label role, design the layout for only ONE label (as shown below).
βThe Paper width and height must match the labels you will be printing on
Even though most label printers don't have margins, its still a good idea to include a margin to ensure you don't print too close to the edge of the label.
Select if the label is for "Demo Inventory" or "Member."
Design the content for the labels.
Check the box for "Quick Access" if this is your default template to print labels in the future.
Click "Save."
