Member Profile - Categories

Updated over 4 months ago

Member profiles contain system fields (e.g., name, email, cell phone, etc.) and custom fields (e.g., shoe size, mailing address, etc.). In many cases, there will be a large number of custom fields contained in the member profile. Member profile categories can be created to better organize your member profiles, and custom fields added to the appropriate categories (as shown below).

By adding member profile categories, member profiles will be more visually appealing, and it will be easier to find member information.

A typical scenario would be when club fitting specs are contained in the member profile. This type of information could potentially include 20+ custom fields. To contain this information in the member profile, you could create a "Club Fitting Specs" category and contain the 20+ custom fields in the category.

In this article, we will discuss how to create and manage these member profile categories.

Creating Member Profile Categories:

To create member profile categories, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to Club Details > Members > Profile Categories > New Profile Category.

  2. Enter the name of the category.

  3. Enter a description of the category. This will only be displayed internally when editing a category.

  4. Enter the display order. If you have multiple categories, you can manage the order in which the categories are displayed in the member profile by entering a display order. To ensure proper ordering, make sure the display order value for a category is unique from the others.

  5. Click "Save."

The member profile category will then be created. The sequence below shows the process of creating a field category.

Adding Custom Fields to Categories:

When creating or editing a custom field, you can add it to the appropriate member profile category (as shown below).
