Q: We have a recurring task of vacuuming the golf shop every night. Can I create a recurring task for this?
A: When creating a new task and selecting More Options, you will be able to select an option to create a recurring task at the following intervals:
Not Recurring: The task is a one-time event and will not repeat.
Daily: Repeats every day.
Weekly: Repeats every week on the same day of the week as the first instance.
Biweekly: Repeats every two weeks on the same day of the week as the first instance.
Monthly: Repeats every month on the same day of the month as the first instance.
Yearly: Repeats every year on the same month and day as the first instance.
When selecting a recurring task, you will define the start date (the first time the task should occur), the completion time, and the end date of the recurring task.
βNotes:
Recurring task instances are created automatically via a daily background job. When a recurring task becomes overdue, the next occurrence is automatically scheduled for the first valid date in the future β past occurrences are not recreated.
A maximum of 10 uncompleted instances of the same recurring task can exist at one time. Once some of those tasks have been marked as completed or deleted, a new instance will be created based on the schedule.
Creating a Recurring Task
To create a recurring task, follow these directions:
Go to Staff > Tasks > Dashboard.
Click "More Options" (as shown below)
Fill in the requested information.
Assign the task to a group or an individual. As a best practice, assign recurring tasks that can be completed by multiple individuals to a group, such as Golf Shop Staff. This allows anyone part of the group to complete the task.
Select the interval you would like it to repeat for a recurring task. For a daily recurring task, select "Daily" and enter the start date, the time you would like the task completed, and when the task should end (as shown below).
Click "Save Task" to add the task to the dashboard.
Completing Recurring Tasks
If a recurring task has not been marked as complete, it can accumulate multiple overdue instances on the dashboard, making it appear overcrowded. To avoid this, you can mark all instances of a recurring task as complete at once using the Complete All Tasks to Date action. For details, Click Here.
Deleting Recurring Task
When deleting a recurring task with more than one occurrence on the dashboard, you will be presented with options for how to handle the deletion. When deleting a recurring task with only one occurrence, a simple confirmation will appear. For complete details on deleting recurring tasks, Click Here.
