Making Changes to Existing Vendors via Spreadsheet

Updated over 3 months ago

Adding and maintaining vendors in your Vendor List can be done in many different ways. One of the methods is via spreadsheet.

In this article, we will discuss making changes to existing vendors in the list via spreadsheet.

Making Changes to Existing Vendors via Spreadsheet:

**Golf Genius Important Note**

When downloading and editing via spreadsheet, you must un-hide Column "A". Column "A" is always hidden by default and includes vendor ID numbers generated by Golf Shop. If this cell is not un-hide during editing, the IDs might be swapped between vendors and would cause vendors to be swapped when uploading the spreadsheet.

You can also make changes to the Vendor List via spreadsheet (e.g., adding new vendors, changing red detail, adding new columns of information) after the original spreadsheet has been loaded. This is sometimes preferable when many changes need to be made to the list. This method may be quicker than going to the Vendor List and making changes individually.

To do this, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to Club Details > Vendors > Roster > Download Spreadsheet. Download and save the spreadsheet onto your computer.

  2. Make a copy of the spreadsheet as a backup.

  3. Open the spreadsheet and make your changes in the spreadsheet.

    1. IMPORTANT: DO NOT sort any columns in the excel document unless you un-hide column A (Column A is always hidden by default and includes vendor ID numbers).

    2. You can add new vendors by adding them to the spreadsheet.

    3. You cannot delete vendors via spreadsheet. (To delete vendors, go to the Vendor list and click on delete in the vendor's row.)

  4. Save the spreadsheet as a ".xlsx" file.

  5. Go to Club Details > Vendors > Roster > Choose File > Select the spreadsheet from your computer and click "Import Spreadsheet.

  6. Match any attributes that may need to be matched and click "Import Spreadsheet."

  7. Click "Back" once the import is finalized.
